The genuine Dala Horse from “Grannas,” located in Nusnas, Sweden, is the original maker of these wonderful horses. They were first made as wooden toys and sold by peddlers in and about the villages around Mora in the early 19th century. Today Dala horses are sold all over the world, but these Wood Dala Horses are genuine and still made by hand carving wood and hand painting the wonderful details first created by Grannas Anders Olsson in Sweden. Today the Dala Horse remains a symbol for the kingdom of Sweden.
